Privacy policy
This policy covers michaelibara.com, which is run by Michael Ibara through his consulting practice, Fathom Digital Health.
What is collected
- Contact form. Your name, email address, organization if you give one, the inquiry type you choose, and your message. Nothing else is asked for. Netlify, which runs the form, also records the sending IP address, the browser type and the page the form was sent from, and stores them with your message.
- Visits. Visits are counted with Plausible Analytics, which uses no cookies and stores no IP addresses. It records the page visited, the site you came from, your browser, operating system and device type, and your approximate location. It also records, as events, clicks on links to other sites, file downloads, and the fact that the contact form was sent (not what was written in it). Visitors are counted with an identifier that is deleted every 24 hours, so no one is followed from day to day or across sites. Plausible stores this data in the EU. See Plausible's data policy (opens in a new tab).
- Technical data. The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site, as any web host does.
How it is used
Form details are used only to read and reply to your message. They are not sold, not shared for marketing and not added to any mailing list.
Spam filtering
Form submissions pass through Netlify's automatic spam filter, which uses Akismet (a service of Automattic). Akismet receives the submission and technical details about it in order to decide whether it is spam.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies.
Storage and retention
Form submissions, including any flagged as spam, are stored in Netlify's form service in the United States and deleted within three months. Akismet checks each submission on servers around the world and deletes most of what it receives within 90 days. Messages not flagged as spam are also delivered by email, and that copy is kept as ordinary correspondence.
Your requests
To ask what is held about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, send a request through the contact form with the inquiry type “Other”.
